I am Victor Smith, the Liberal Party Candidate for the NSW State Seat of Cabramatta.  I live in our electorate and I understand what YOU all need and want in our electorate.  I am standing for selection for the Cabramatta Seat at the NSW State Elections on Saturday 24 March 2007.
My main issues to be addressed in our Electorate are; serious transport problems, poor education (including early learning) and facilities, lack of community services & funding, health & fitness (including medical facilities & better sporting fields/parks), Police (Crime & lack of staff), Fire Service (new fire station & equipment), Ambulance (possibility of local station), local business (bringing business back to Cabramatta) and domestic violence (possibility of domestic violence assistance locally).

It is clear from talking with local businesses and people that they are suffering under the Carr-Iemma Labor Government’s economic mismanagement of NSW. As the Liberal Candidate for the Seat of Cabramatta, I am able to offer our electorate a solution.

Labor has had long enough to build a strong economy that supports communities like the Seat of Cabramatta. But after 12 years the State is broke, sliding towards recession, facing a record deficit and worse, you’re paying for their incompetence.

You’re paying for Labor’s mismanagement through more state taxes, fewer basic services and a collapse in economic growth.  The people of the Seat of Cabramatta and NSW deserve much better.

I believe that higher standards and better services can only be delivered through solid economic management and fully costed, fully funded policies.  That is why the State Liberals have released our Economic Rescue Plan to help.

Peter Debnam and the Liberals are taking responsibility to fix the problems facing businesses through policies that will rebuild the NSW economy and deliver the local services our community needs, services that have been demolished under this Labor Government.  The only difference between the old destructive and incompetent Carr Labor Party and the so-called new Iemma Labor Party is Bob Carr.   The incompetent Ministers that caused the problems in the Bob Carr lead Labor Government are still there; like Reba Meagher, Michael Costa, Joe Tripodi, Paul Lynch, Morris Iemma, John Watkins and many more.
